**True North Advisors has strengthened its rapidly expanding events business with the appointment of one of Scotland's most experienced events and commercial leaders.**

Kim Stephen joins the Aberdeen-headquartered strategic communications and advisory firm as Senior Events Advisor, bringing more than 15 years of experience in delivering major conferences, high-profile events and commercial partnerships across the UK.

Her appointment comes as True North accelerates plans to expand its True Stories and True Leaders events programmes, following a series of successful live shows and the recent announcement that former Deputy First Minister Kate Forbes has joined the business as a host.

Kim joins from the Energy Industries Council (EIC), where she has served as Regional Director for the UK and Ireland since 2023, overseeing a multimillion-pound annual operation, leading a team and setting the strategy for more than 30 events each year.

Previously, she spent more than five years as Head of Sales at P&J Live, where she was part of the senior management team responsible for establishing Aberdeen's flagship events venue as a leading destination for major conferences and exhibitions.

Her career has also included senior events roles at the Net Zero Technology Centre and Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, where she led an events programme of around 130 business events annually.

The appointment is the latest investment in talent by True North Advisors, which has grown from a start-up into a UK-wide advisory firm with offices in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and London.

Kim will work with recently-appointed Rhona Gillan, True North’s Head of Marketing, to drive the expansion of its integrated marketing, events and creative services.

Kim’s appointment follows a successful first year for True Stories, which has welcomed Louis Theroux to Dundee and Edinburgh and six-time Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy to Dundee's Caird Hall. True North is now developing an ambitious programme for 2027.
