# A busy week at SNP Conference
True North has a busy old week supporting a range of clients in and around the SNP’s Annual Conference in Aberdeen.
BBC Debate Night was in town ahead of the event, exploring some of the major issues in the headlines, not least the energy transition and its relevance to the North East of Scotland and its world-class supply chain.
Our Managing Partner [Geoff Aberdein](https://truenorth.scot/geoff-aberdein) joined politicians Jack Middleton MSP, Daniel Johnson MSP, Harriet Cross MP and Gillian Mackay MSP on the panel for a lively discussion.
Our other Managing Partner [Fergus Mutch](https://truenorth.scot/fergus-mutch) joined a More in Common UK panel event at the Conference on Thursday, unpicking some fresh polling and focus group data on where the SNP stands after the Holyrood elections, alongside Deputy First Minister Jenny Gilruth MSP, Seamus Logan MP, Glasgow City Council Leader Ricky Bell and More in Common's Exec Director Luke Tryl – deftly chaired by POLITICO’s Andrew McDonald.
On Thursday evening we helped facilitate a dinner hosted and sponsored by our clients Thistle Wind Partners, bringing together voices from a range of industries and organisations investing, creating jobs and keen to play their part in growing Scotland’s economy.
Represented at the dinner were Highland Broadband, BP, Scottish Financial Enterprise, Energy Transition Zone, Opportunity North East, Ocean Winds, SSEN Transmission, Robert Gordon University, Adura, Ventex Studio, Aberdeen Football Club, TauRx, Harbour Energy, Motorsport UK, Ashfield Land, Connected Kerb, Flotation Energy, Ming Yang and Scottish Renewables.
We are grateful to First Minister John Swinney, Economy Secretary Stephen Flynn and Public Finance Minister Hannah Mary Goodlad for attending, engaging and offering their reflections on the night.
Across the three-day Conference, our colleague [Dr Eilidh Whiteford](https://truenorth.scot/eilidh-whiteford) supported several clients in their meetings with senior MSPs, MPs and key councillors.
And on Friday night we invited friends from across business, politics, the third sector, the public affairs community and the media to join us for a few drinks in Aberdeen city centre after the Conference was done for the day.
Fantastic to see 200+ people there and enormous thanks to Highland Broadband and Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce for partnering with us on this event - everyone enjoyed themselves!
Calum Macdonald of Holyrood Sources was on hand to grab a word with politicians, pundits and pollsters for their thoughts and reflections too for a special conference podcast – keep your eyes peeled for that going live this week.
